To wisely manage and leverage our resources to achieve the greatest possible scale, sustainability and impact of integrated services, Freedom from Hunger focuses its efforts in countries that have

• large, contiguous populations facing high relative poverty and chronic hunger;

• a sufficiently stable environment to allow safe and sustained delivery of integrated services; and

• implementing organizations committed to serving the poor, particularly the very poor.

In 2004, we completed a strategic planning process through which we identified 15 countries that meet these criteria and where we plan to focus for the next five years.  These include the following:
