Dr. Salvador Baldizon Presents at Berkeley and Stanford Conferences
Freedom from Hunger's Senior Technical Advisor, Salvador Baldizon, MD, MPH, was invited to speak at both Stanford University and UC Berkeley this spring about sustainable development, public health and how microfinance can support both. Last weekend, Salva presented at Stanford University's School of Medicine's Unite for Sight Conference. His paper, "Pursuing a Ghost: Fostering Sustainable Health Care in Developing Countries," was presented along with the perspectives of prominent leaders, physicians and practitioners who are working to improve public health in the developing world. On March 3, Salva was across the Bay presenting our Microfinance and Health Protection Initiative at Berkeley's 9th Annual International Health Conference on War, Poverty and Population. Presenting with Salva at Berkeley were Training Specialist Sue Glassford and Technical Associate Kim Peeren, who shared plans for our Reach and Ghana initiatives.
