InterAction

Formed in 1994, InterAction is “the largest alliance of U.S.-based international development and humanitarian nongovernmental organizations.” Its members, numbering more than 160, “work to overcome poverty, exclusion and suffering by advancing social justice and basic dignity for all.”  Together, InterAction members “collaborate and participate in four Program Committees (Committee on Development Policy and Practice; Humanitarian Policy and Practice; Public Policy Committee; and Commission on the Advancement of Women) and their working groups.”

Over its 22 years of membership, Freedom from Hunger has participated in several InterAction working groups, including advocacy, communications, program evaluation and member requirements.  In addition, our staff have served as speakers and actively participated in InterAction's annual conferences.  Freedom from Hunger's President, Dr. Christopher Dunford, served on the Board of InterAction from December 2002 to May 2006.
