Scalable Delivery Models

There are more than 800 million people on the planet who suffer from chronic poverty and hunger.  While the need is great, many implementing organizations struggle to reach large numbers of the poor with products, services and information they need to achieve financial and food security.  Freedom from Hunger addresses this need by working with a variety of implementing organizations to develop scalable delivery models to reach more people with effective integrated services. 

Since groups—Credit Associations, village banks, self-help groups or other structures—have proven to be highly effective and efficient means to deliver services to the poor, our products, training and technical assistance emphasize group-based delivery models.  These models differ by the types of groups used or the way in which groups are used, depending on the product or service being delivered.  Yet, they are all based on the idea that an organization can take advantage of people meeting together to provide access to information, resources or services.  The delivery models include the following:
